Yoke Wong was born to modest parents in Malaysia where she began to play the piano at the very young age of only seven years old. Her talents were obvious to her friends and family at an early age and she trained very hard for a number of years before she passed the performance examination of the ATCL Diploma from Trinity College London at only the age of just seventeen years. This is an exceptional feat for anyone to achieve and her family was very proud of her to have attained such an achievement at such a young age.
Yoke also went on receive two degrees from Kansas State University including a BS and MS in Foods and Nutrition which she uses to keep herself and her family in good health. Over the course of the last decade Yoke has experienced through music and the playing of her piano the power of God’s transformation and she carries this with her in everything she does.
Yoke is the acting president and founder of Harmony and Melody Studio, Inc, a leading piano educational publisher in the United States and she has been named Who’s Who of American Women 2002-2003, Who’s Who in America 2003-2004 and most recently the Who’s Who in the World 2004.
Yoke produces some lovely free sheet music that you can use to train yourself or even teach younger people the beauty of music by sharing with them the wonders of learning to play the piano. She also offers instruction on how to read music and tips on how to become better at piano sight reading which are great for anyone learning piano.
