India Among ‘Most Challenging’ Destinations for Expats Moving
Press Trust of India:With a burgeoning area economy fueling foreign postings to record high amounts, India is among the most challenging places for expatriates to work. Sixty-nine percent of the multinational firms reported a rise in the amount of overseas assignments last year, while up to 65 percent of such companies intend to increase their foreign postings in 2007. An expanding worldwide economy is fueling a significant rise in the amount of international postings, even as economic and cultural challenges of an overseas job are hurting spouses, children, and relatives, the survey notes. Besides India, China and Russia were the main emerging sites, but they have also become the places with the most challenges for expatriates, mostly due to matters like housing and living expenses, immigration obstacles, and payroll and employment-associated worries.
