Singapore Airlines set to buy huge US$930 million chunk of China EasternFriday, August 31, 2007Singapore Airlines, and parent company Temasek Holdings is said to be gearing up to buy a estimated USD930 million chunk of China Eastern Airlines, in a merger set to rival the Air China and Cathay Pacific alliance.The agreement has not been completely finalised, but it is expected that Singapore Airlines will buy a 16% stake, and parent company Temasek Holdings will buy an 8% stake.
